About Partick And His Values
Ballydehob native Patrick Murphy is Chief Executive of the Organisation of Fishermen and Fish Producers, known as the Irish South and West Fish Producers Organisation (IS&WFPO), based in Castletownbere on the Beara Peninsula. He is 53 years old, married to Rose and has four children. Patrick is a Community Activist and the former Chair of our Village’s Community Council in Ballydehob on the Mizen Peninsula. For many years he was a member of the local Summer Festival Committee and of Ballydehob Jazz committee, a Leader of a local Youth Organisation, a GAA Youth-team Coach, member of the Parents’ School Committee and an AED First Responder and Instructor.
Many may know him from our fishermen’s protest along the south coast that stopped Russian Military Naval Exercises from occurring in Irish sovereign waters off the south coast in January of 2022.
That success was repeated some few months later when our fishing community persuaded the French Military not to engage in similar exercises in those same Irish sovereign waters.Jonathanity.
