Tina Turner, one of the worlds  greatest recording artists of all time, has died at the age of 83. She passed away peacefully at her home in Switzerland after a long illness.

Turner began her career in the 1950s and became a prominent figure in the rock and roll era. She won multiple Grammy Awards, including six in the 1980s, and had several chart-topping hits. Turner’s story of triumph over abuse from her former husband, Ike Turner, inspired many.

She had a distinctive voice and captivating performances that made her an international sensation. Born Anna Mae Bullock, she achieved immense success both as part of Ike and Tina Turner and as a solo artist. Turner’s legacy continues with the success of the musical “TINA: The Tina Turner Musical” and the release of the documentary “Tina.” She is survived by her partner, Erwin Bach, and two adopted sons.
