Saint Anthony of Cork’ Neil PrendevilleForget GPS — Kieran from Wicklow invented a new sport: Extreme Car Hiding. After rolling into Cork for a wild stag do on April 4th, he spent longer finding his car than the actual party lasted.

“I couldn’t find parking in the city,” he told Neil Prendeville on Red FM, “so I just drove somewhere south and dumped it in an estate. No idea where.” Logical? No. Legendary? Absolutely.

When the party ended, Kieran realised he had no clue where his trusty wine-red 2010 Skoda Superb was marooned. Cue a month of desperate estate-hopping weekends, where he and a long-suffering mate drove through 59 Cork neighbourhoods, burning fuel faster than hope.

.

Despite enlisting taxi drivers, the Gardaí, and probably half of Cork, the Skoda remained a ghost. That is, until Saint Susan Maguire (patron saint of random observations) spotted it on Tory Top Road.

Thanks to Susan and the radio’s ‘Saint Anthony of Cork’, Neil Prendeville — Kieran’s saga finally ended.

Moral of the story? Next time, Kieran might just Uber.
