The funeral of 56-year-old Kerry sheep farmer Michael Gaine will take place this Saturday at 10:30am in Holy Cross Church, Kenmare.
Michael, deeply cherished by both the farming and rallying communities, went missing from his farm on March 20th. Tragically, what began as a missing person’s case is now being treated by gardaí as a suspected murder. Human remains linked to Michael were discovered on his property in April.
His family, devastated by the loss, have expressed heartfelt thanks to the public for their support during this unimaginable time. Reposing will be held at Finnegan’s Funeral Home in Kenmare on Friday from 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kerry Mountain Rescue and the National Search and Rescue Dog Association, honouring the efforts made during the search. Michael’s loss leaves a void in his community, and his memory will be held close by all who knew and loved him.
