The Taoiseach is being urged to visit Cork to meet Uisce Éireann officials and establish a timeline to resolve the city’s discoloured water issues. Residents have been dealing with this problem, affecting everything from laundry and food preparation to showering. They express frustration over the inadequate response from Uisce Éireann, who are only conducting flushing works.
Sonya Cashman from Spring Lane, Blackpool, told RedFM News that Taoiseach Simon Harris needs to understand the daily struggles caused by the poor water quality. “He has to come down and show support for people who are struggling to buy water to wash their children. People are buying bottled water for their dogs. I wouldn’t wash my plants with this water. Everyone dealing with this issue is fed up,” she said.
Residents are calling for immediate action, emphasizing the urgent need for clean water in their community. The persistent water quality issues have driven locals to demand a face-to-face meeting with the Taoiseach to push for a swift and effective resolution.
